Finally Fall

I just love the fall. The colors are so beautiful. Riley loves playing with leaves in our yard. She tries so hard to reach up and get leaves off the tree. Every time she is successful in this endeavor, she shows me her leaf and says, "That's a good one," or "tadah!" Then she takes them to a special place, which is right next to our meter. That is where she keeps the "good ones."

Trunk-or-Treat

This weekend we went to the Trunk-or-Treat at our church. It was a blast. Riley got her face painted, and she loved playing all the games. We had popcorn as one of the treats, and Riley ate a little bit of hers, then put it in her trick-or-treat pumpkin that she had for her candy. She was "saving" it for later. Our little hot dog pretty much slept through the whole thing.

Cookie on a String

Riley and Daddy loved playing cookie on a string. Riley thought it was so funny.

So Pwitty!

Our finished product! Riley thought that her little pumpkin was " so pwitty." We can't convince her that Daddy's is a ghost. She thinks it is an octopus.

Carving Pumpkins

This weekend we carved the pumpkins that we picked out at the Pumpkin Patch. Riley thought that the stuff inside the pumpkins was "gwose."

Pumpkin Patch

In true halloween spirit, we took Riley to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out some pumpkins to carve for halloween. We had a blast! She loved finding a "Widdo" pumpkin for herself, and "gig" pumpkins for Mommy and Daddy.

Gween Kunkin

We found the perfect pumpkin for Riley. It was just her size...then just as we were about to leave the pumpkin patch, Riley said, "wook, I find a gween kunkin!" She was so excited about this tiny little green pumpkin, that we couldn't resist letting her take it home.

Tang

This week Riley discovered that she likes Tang...A lot!! I am starting to wonder if the orange mustache is permanent!

Looking for the chickens

Grandma bessie took Riley out to feed the chickens. She loved it. Later Riley wanted to go outside to see Jace and Grandpa Dave. Grandma bessie let her out, and watched her for a minute to make sure she knew where they were. After a while, Jace and Grandpa dave came in the house...No Riley. Apparently she didn't quite make it to see them. So we went out looking for her. After about five minutes, Jace finally found her. She had wandered off into another feild. Apparently she had gone on her own quest to find the chickens! She gave us a bit of a scare, but it sure was cute!!

Trip to the Valley

Last week We went to visit Jace's parents. Jace helped his dad fix fence at the ranch and move the cows out of the mountains. We also visited the great grandparents. Payton was meeting them for the first time.

"Don't-Can't"

Well, we are now finished with potty training. Happy day!! Luckily Riley is a fast learner. She figured it out very quickly. Payton has started smiling, and she tries so hard to giggle, but can't quite figure it out yet. Riley is talking up a storm. Somedays I just look at her and think..."I can't believe I am having an entire conversation with my two year old." She is a funny little girl. She makes me laugh everyday. Lately she has been telling me that she "Don't-can't" do things. She will say: "Mommy I don't-can't reach it," or, "I don't-can't find it." It is hillarious. She is becoming a very affectionate little girl. She will come up to me or Payton several times a day and give us a hug and say, "I wuv you mommy," or "I wuv you Taten." So sweet.
